Germany is a Federal Republic having its Basic Law that contains all the features of a constitution but the term Basic Law instead of it being called Constitution intends to show the provisional nature of this law. The federal legislative power i.e., the lawmaking power is vested in the parliament which consists of Bundestag and Bundesrat. These are the two Houses of Parliament in Germany.
According to the Basic Law of Germany the human dignity is inviolable. To respect and protect it shall be the duty of all state authority. All persons are equal before the law and all state authority is derived from the people of Germany.
