The Federal Republic of Germany has a Chancellor. The Chancellor is the head of the German Government who leads the government. The Chancellors position corresponds to that of the Prime Minister’s position in several other parliamentary democracies.

It is the Chancellor and the ministers of the Chancellor who make up the Cabinet. Cabinet in simple words would mean a team of senior most ministers who are chosen to lead, advise and oversee certain policy making areas. The Chancellor heads the executive branch of Germany i.e., the branch that executes the law. The Chancellor is also head of the Federal Cabinet and chairs the Cabinet meetings in Germany.

It is the Chancellor who has the right to form the Cabinet and choose ministers who would work for the welfare, growth and development of the country. The general guidelines of the government policy are determined by the Chancellor for the welfare of the people. The Federal Cabinet of Germany comprises of the Chancellor and the cabinet ministers who work for effectively executing and implementing the laws.
