The Constitution of Finland is the basis of all the legislations in Finland. As per the Constitution Finland is a Sovereign Republic. The Constitution guarantees the inviolability of human dignity along with the freedoms and the rights of the individuals. The Constitution contains various provisions pertaining to powers exercised by the government and the various governmental organizations. 

The legislative powers are exercised by the Parliament of Finland. As per the Constitution the sovereign power in Finland shall belong to the people. Everyone is equal before the law. The Parliament of Finland is unicameral and its most important function is to enact laws along with other functions such as supervising the activities of the government, deciding the State budget etc.
